The Basics
Who exactly do you support?
Focus On People is designed for independent, alternative mental health practices. We specialize in supporting "small-but-mighty" teams—typically individual practitioners or practices with 1–5 people (often working with subcontractors). Whether you are just starting out or looking to streamline an established business, we’re built for you.
Are you a franchise?
No. We are a support service, not a franchise. While we provide the kind of robust operational backing you might typically expect from a franchise model, we believe you should own your brand and your future—not the other way around. You keep your clinical independence; we just provide the foundation.
Do you sell a single software platform?
No. We aren't a "one-size-fits-all" software company. Instead, we have curated a suite of industry-standard services that we know work best for our field. We handle the setup and provide you with access. Because we manage these services for many professionals, we are able to secure volume pricing that we pass on to you—making high-end tools finally affordable.
How It Works
So, what do I actually have to do?
You still run your business! Only you know your patients and your clinical goals best. Think of us as your operational safety net. We don’t take over your decision-making; we simply make sure that the tools you use to run your practice are working perfectly. If you have a problem with an invoice, a website glitch, or a booking question, we are the people you call for the answer.
What does the setup process look like?
It starts with a real human. Depending on your plan, you’ll work with a dedicated coordinator who gathers the essentials: who you are, where you’re located, and what your vision is for your practice.
- Entity & Insurance: We assist you in incorporating your entity (like an LLC) to ensure you are properly set up for liability. We also help identify the appropriate professional and liability insurances you need to purchase—and in some cases, these may even be included in your service package.
- Web & Brand: If you have a domain, we’ll use it to build your site. If not, we’ll help you find the right one. We’ll also help you secure your social media handles and provide the tools to help you create consistent messaging.
- Communication: We set up your professional email and internal tools so all you have to do is log in and start working.
What if I don't want your service anymore?
Since we don't control your business, that's no problem at all—just simply contact us and we will work through how to make sure the transition is seamless. While there may be some fees involved to make sure everything gets transferred to you (and you won't get the volume discounts anymore for various tools!), we will make sure your business does not stop.
The Hard Stuff
What if I need help with taxes and accounting?
Every Focus On People plan includes day to day expense and invoicing through easy to use technology that is completely self service. If something is not working, just let us know and we can help. If you need deeper help—like complex tax filings or full financial planning— we have a network of trusted partners who provide expert guidance at a discounted rate for our members.
I’m a solo practitioner—how do I get health insurance?
This is a huge hurdle for many of us. We have two ways to help:
- For teams of 1+ employees: We have a PEO (Professional Employer Organization) partner that manages payroll and can help you explore group benefit options.
- For solo-preneurs: We provide clear, expert direction on how to navigate the healthcare marketplace to find the best coverage for you and your family while minimizing costs.

To be honest? No. Starting and growing a business is never "easy." It requires heart, hard work, and resilience. But it doesn't have to be overwhelming. Our goal is to take away the administrative stress that leads to burnout.
